Talladega, Ala. – Target Media Partner's first sponsored truck show was by all accounts, a resounding success. Just ask any of the hundreds of participants - exhibitors and attendees alike - who visited the 2005 Alabama Truck Show at Talladega, Ala., Oct. 13–14.
The affair began the evening of Oct. 12 with a barbecue and a golf tournament at an area course. Opening day saw more than 40 exhibitors, most of whom were company and agency recruiters, on hand to greet all comers. The evening's festivities were topped off by a banquet at another area country club.
The crowd grew the final day of the show as more and more drivers decided to drop in after shutting down their rigs at the start of the weekend. Inside the huge tent, trucker and other visitors found more than 40 exhibitors on hand. And what trucking event would be complete without always-popular Joey Holiday serving up the tunes and games for the length of the event?
Overall, Target Media Partner's maiden voyage into the ever-expanding schedule of truck- and truck - related happenings was a stellar effort. As parent company of The Trucker and a host of other industry-related publications, corporate officials are already making plans for and even bigger and better production in 2006.
